Program Overview

Within our School Based Services, we have the unique ability to provide an array of custom-tailored support services to meet each school district’s individual needs. Our services can include a comprehensive program providing intensive mental health supports within a special education classroom setting, such as our STARRS and ARCHES programs; a full-time behavior specialist; the ability to access our network of providers through our SPIN services; and customized training for staff, students and parents. All programs utilize evidence-based principles and are centered around our core philosophy of Wraparound care.

Our School Based Services often prove critical in the ultimate success of students, due to the lack of mental health supports and pro-social emotional supports available for students. Our services are unique in that they follow students beyond the classroom and into their homes.

Why Consider School Based Services

Our Team Approach

We embrace the Wraparound model for all of our care, services and programs. Our staff works collaboratively to develop and implement customized treatment plans for the individuals and families in our programs, and each team member contributes to our clients’ successes.

Empowerment & Support

At ICAN, we strive to empower and support individuals and families facing life challenges, by providing them with the tools to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. We assist them with succeeding in any goal they may have set, whether it be recovering from addiction, finding success in the classroom, creating a healthy home for their family as they anticipate the birth of a child, or seeking support and community resources, all while keeping families together as they process through their traumas.

Access To Resources

We connect individuals and families with critical community resources, such as access to physical and mental health providers, employment opportunities, housing options, peer support groups, and Wraparound services. We understand that access to some of these services can be difficult to attain during certain life challenges, and we are here to help individuals and families overcome this obstacle.

Having this partnership is important to support not only our students in our program, but their families. It helps our students grow academically, emotionally, and socially. This union between a school-based program and a community-based program helps provide more outside services to each family. By providing these services, it helps families become invested on all levels.

I am the proud mom of Landon C. Landon was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD in April 2018. Landon started with Kids Oneida and the STARRS program in November 2018, shortly after starting Kindergarten. Both of these programs have amazing teachers, aides, counselors, and coordinators!! They all have worked so hard to keep Landon safe, work on his behaviors, give him time and space when needed, and achieve his goals!!… Read More

The STARRS Program has given me hope that my child can find a place where he can be himself and not feel ‘different.’ It’s given me the freedom to improve life for me and my son. It’s been a breath of fresh air to be involved with people who ‘get it’ and who see the value in my child and people like him.
