  • Cleaning Staff (Part-Time)

    Integrated Community Alternatives Network (ICAN), a Community-based Wraparound provider of Social and Mental Health services with emphasis on treating the client in a family context, is currently seeking innovative and experienced applicants to fill a Part-Time Cleaning Staff position. This position will be assigned to the Utica Children's Museum and Herkimer Office.

    The Cleaning Staff is responsible for meeting a high standard of performance for the cleanliness of the agency’s facilities; through assigned routine daily cleaning activities.

    Shift: Utica Children's Museum - Saturday & Sunday, 7 am to 4 pm

    Herkimer - Two to three nights a week, 3 to 4 hours a night, other shifts as needed.

    Rate: This is an non-exempt position, paid an hourly rate $18.00.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Perform cleaning functions on a daily basis and as needed, including cleaning all offices, emptying of garbage containers, cleaning break rooms and kitchens, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting and cleaning glass surfaces, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and other areas as assigned.
    • Meet with the Facilities Manager on a regular basis to review the status of ongoing department activities and facility needs.
    • Identify various facility needs and share concerns with the supervisor, including the needs of supplies on an as needed basis.
    • Maintain open lines of communication regarding job activities, locations, etc.
    • Use/wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times per safety guidelines. Observe safe work practices at all times with chemicals, equipment, etc.
    • Use safety signs and any needed precautionary methods to assure safe standards.
    • Cleaning staff may be assigned to other agency worksites to serve as backup or in regular rotation of shifts.

    Education/Experience

    • A High School Diploma or GED; or any equivalent combination of experience and training required.
    • A valid NYS Driver's License is required.
