The annual Par 4 Kids Ladies Golf Tournament brought the community together for more than a day on the golf course. It celebrated the life-changing work of Evelyn’s House and the belief that Hope Blooms Here.

This year's theme came to life through the inspiring story of Holly, introduced by Vice President of Community Services Lisa Reginelli. Her journey is a powerful reminder that when young parents are surrounded by compassion, opportunity and support, hope grows into lasting success.

A Place to Begin Again

At just 18 years old, Holly was raising a young daughter when she learned she was expecting her second child. Faced with uncertainty, limited resources and the possibility of placing her baby for adoption, she was searching for a safe place to turn.

Through a Healthy Families referral, Holly found Evelyn’s House.

Although moving from a small rural community to Utica felt overwhelming, she quickly discovered much more than housing. She found people who believed in her before she believed in herself.

At Evelyn’s House, Holly found:

  • Encouragement instead of judgment
  • Support instead of isolation
  • Childcare so she could earn her GED
  • Lifelong friendships with other young mothers
  • The confidence to build an independent future

Where Hope Took Root

With guidance from staff, Holly gained the skills and confidence to create a brighter future for herself and her children. When she moved into her own home, the support continued. Evelyn’s House helped furnish her apartment with clothing, household essentials, a crib and everything her family needed for a fresh start.

Looking back, Holly has one message for young parents facing similar challenges.
"Accept the help. There are people who genuinely care and want to see you succeed."

Today, Holly has earned her GED, built a successful career at Rome Health caring for infants and supporting families and says her greatest accomplishment is simple.
"Giving my children a good life. That's all that has ever mattered to me."

Hope Comes Full Circle

Holly has returned to Evelyn’s House, not as a resident but as a member of the team.
She now walks beside young mothers facing many of the same fears she once carried, offering the same encouragement, compassion and hope that changed her own life.

Her story reflects the mission of Evelyn’s House every day.

  • Safe housing for young families
  • Support that builds confidence and independence
  • Resources that create opportunities for long-term success
  • A community where hope continues to grow

Helping Hope Bloom

Holly’s journey is proof that hope does not bloom overnight. It grows when people choose to invest in young families with encouragement, stability and belief in their potential.

Because of the generous supporters of the Par 4 Kids Ladies Golf Tournament, young mothers do more than overcome difficult circumstances. They build brighter futures for themselves and their children. Sometimes, like Holly, they return to help the next generation do the same.

This year's tournament celebrated more than a fundraiser. It celebrated every family whose future has been transformed through Evelyn’s House and every supporter who helps ensure that Hope Blooms Here.
