What are Managed Services?

Bringing it down to the basics, Managed Services are essential operational and administrative functions that organizations outsource to experts, allowing them to focus on their mission while ensuring efficiency and compliance. ICAN is an established, innovative agency with over 300 staff and strong internal administrative departments. For many years, our leadership team has been sought out for assistance and advice on how we handle everything from daily operations and program details to capital campaign implementation and overall agency growth. 

ICAN provides comprehensive Managed Services for ICAN’s Independent Practice Association (IPA), supporting operational efficiency through expert administration of Electronic Health Records (EHR), Compliance, Quality Improvement, Contracting and Credentialing, and Finance and Billing. These services ensure that ICAN IPA and its network providers maintain regulatory compliance, streamline workflows, and optimize financial performance while focusing on delivering high-quality care.

In our community,  ICAN is trusted, has expertise, is “doing the work” and has a long history with Manager Services relationships.

In 2017, we entered into a Managed Services Agreement with the Utica Children’s Museum, providing them with operational support and marketing/development services. The result has been the stabilization and continuation of a beloved community asset AND the creation of a brand new museum, which will be co-located with ICAN in South Utica. 

Before that, programs from Family Nurturing Center (Healthy Families, Nurturing Parenting Program and Evelyn’s House) were brought under the ICAN umbrella and continue to thrive and greatly impact families.

What is the process like?

Just like no non-profit is exactly alike, no Managed Services proposal will be either – a customized solution will be proposed to you before putting a formal process and agreement in place.
